I’ve been single for well over a year and I have truly enjoyed every moment of it. Especially those no-strings-attached moments between the sheets.

For the past year I have enjoyed new experiences, new men, new positions and a whole new chapter of my life. Having recently gained the self-confidence to approach a man, I took charge of my sexuality and decided it was time to let loose a little bit and have a good time.

And that was the best decision EVER.

Recently, though, I was set up on a date. Not really looking for anything serious at the moment, I only agreed to the whole event to appease my friend. But as soon as the boy came to pick me up I was glad that I did.

He was cute. He was smart. He was funny. And he was a total gentleman.

At the end of the evening I thanked him for dinner and awkwardly dodged his attempts at a kiss by slamming my apartment door in his face. Smooth, I know.

It was not like I didn’t want to kiss him – in fact, I wanted to do a lot more…in the shower – it was just that, well, I didn’t know how. I haven’t kissed someone I actually liked in a really long time. The last 10 guys I kissed, in fact, had names I could not recall and happened in a dark corner in a gross bar. The kiss almost always led to sex, which was always lots of fun, but was always purely physical, carnal, and fueled by too much alcohol.

In other words, the only “feelings” involved in the whole exchange were the feelings that were happening below the belt. (more…)

Do you ever stare at yourself in the mirror and think, “damn, I wish I could lift my ass up but not add any padding, plus it would be nice to slim my thighs at the same time and tuck my tummy and basically lock my body into suffocating spandex“? Well, if you’ve ever thought these odd things: someone has heard you.

[Celebrities get paid to look good and serve as a style guide to all us common folk, and part of looking good is flaunting their totally awesome fashion sense. Each week, I will be highlighting my Style Idol of the week: a celebrity who consistently shows keen fashion sense and whose closet I would raid in a heartbeat. Of course, no celebs are immune to the occasional “what the hell were they thinking?” moment, but for the most part, these celebs look foxy and fabulous and inspire us all to do the same.]

My favorite fashion-conscious celeb this week is Miss Leighton Meester. Since becoming a bonafide star after Gossip Girl came to the silver screen last fall, this girl can be seen all over the young Hollywood circuit consistently looking put-together and gorgeous.

I love how she puts young and modern spins on classics, and while she’ll vamp it up with short skirts or backless dresses, she never crosses the line into Slutville. Not only does she choose the right clothes for her personal style, coloring and body-type, she accessorizes fabulously well and knows how to mix & match appropriately. (more…)

For a college in stereotypical Smalltown USA, I always thought that good ol’ WAC was a good progressive college, accepting of just about anybody. True, I’m in the VAST black minority in my school, even if they’re attempting to up the number of enrolled black students. But no one really seemed to ever judge me (and if they did, they did an awfully good job at hiding it), and it’s part of why I love my campus.

But I’ve noticed something that has become so frequent that it happens at least twice a week. I don’t know if it’s because we have such a large freshman class that doesn’t know me as well as the rest of the upperclassmen, or if it’s something else, but while I’m walking to lunch, at a club meeting, or in a popular hang-out spot with my girlfriend, whether we’re just holding hands, play-flirting, or giving goodbye kisses, I’ve been catching several looks. And most of them are of utter confusion and/or disgust.

After well over a year of being with my girlfriend, it’s not exactly breaking news that we’re going out. We’ve gotten looks from some upperclassmen before, sure, but it was never so frequent or so extreme as it is now. And I’m certain that these looks aren’t being given to other heterosexual couples, or even other interracial couples (which, unless they are well-hidden, I have seen none of).

It’s bad enough that when I’m home, I can barely bring my girlfriend up in conversation without feeling awkward. But to be on campus, walking down the street and holding her hand and being gawked at like we’re some kind of traveling freak show? (more…)

According to reports, Giorgio Armani is on PETA’s shit list.

Apparently, Armani told the animal activists that he’d no longer use fur in his designs, BUT this winter he’s rolling out children’s jackets made of fur!

WTF?

Be on the lookout Armani lovers Katie Holmes, Heidi Klum and Cate Blanchett, et al.

PETA may be out to confront you too for supporting the two faced designer!

A grown-up Swingers story!

John Favreau and Vince Vaughn will reunite as co-stars in a flick called Couples Retreat.

The awesome Jason Bateman and Cubano Faizon Love will also be featured players in the movie.

According to Variety, the story follows four couples who go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there to play but soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional.

Vince reportedly came up with the movie idea AND in addition to acting in the flick, he’s one of its producers.

Paris’s manager, Jason Moore, just called us from Milan, where Hilton was making an appearance on Friday to promote her fashion line.

He wanted to set the record straight about rumors concerning Pari’s dogs that are floating around the Internets today and are flat-out wrong.

Moore tells us that Hilton’s pooches are fine.

Nothing happened to them. They were never lost. The story printed today in a gossip rap was completely fabricated.

“Paris loves her dogs,” he adds. “The are her children and are very well taken care of.”

And there you have it.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen has so many jewels (and so many ex-boyfriends!) that she can just give them away.

In October, a lot of jewelry from her personal collection will hit the auction block. Proceeds will benefit the Diamond Empowerment Fund, which provides educational funding to diamond-producing countries in Africa.

The bling was reportedly a gift from a very wealthy ex-lover.

Since her very public split from actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Gisele has been linked to football star Tom Brady and pro surfer Kelly Slater.

The auction, which includes 3.35 carat diamond ring and a six carat diamond pendant necklace, is expected to fetch between $15,000 and $150,000.
